Our story begins in 1996 in the small town of Tappahannock, Virginia. William W. Cooke, known as Billy to most of the Tappahannock community and the members of the Hobbs Hole Golf course, an advocate golfer at the time, envisioned a place close to home where he can share his love for the sport with others. He imagined opening a new door to the community that would add a sport that can be played for a lifetime. The assistance from his friends James Moore and Willie Cleaton made this dream a reality. Hobbs Hole Golf Course is a semi-private course that offers memberships as well as open play to the public.  The course was designed by Jeffrey Timmons and Associates of Richmond.  Hobbs hole consists of 160 acres of pure greens and great fairways which could not be possible without the devotion and hard work of the Gy LaFleur, the course’s Certified Golf Course Superintendent. The course includes 18 holes, 6,700 yards of play with five tee options that allows, both beginners and more experienced golfers to enjoy the game based on their level of expertise. It also includes a Bermuda grass driving range and bent grass practice green to assist golfers in furthering their golf game and a little practice before their round. The course  only adds to the success of the course with his hospitality and extensive knowledge of the game. also offers lessons for those just starting or wanting to improve. When play is done come on back to the club house to relax with our wonderful restaurant staff and grab a beverage and some lunch.
